Water at WATA?

"Metamorphoses" at Westford Academy

A Pool and a Theatrical perfomance...

One would think that the two things would have nothing to do with each other.

Well.....guess again!

Leave it too my friends at WATA to push the limits once again.

Yes thats right a pool on stage. Needless to say that there were multiple wet vacs on hand = )

The show is called "Metamorphoses" and was directed by Dr. Luke Jorgensen. Every time I have worked with Luke at WATA, there is always a little surprise in store for me. Nice work once again Luke!

What is it about you ask? Well quoting an online source, it is "Based on Ovid's transformation myths, the play subtly mixes the ancient stories of pathos and tragedy with contemporary language, humor, and thought, all enacted in and around a large pool of water in the center of the stage. The themes of love, the inevitability of change, and the human ability to adapt to change are timeless, as is amply demonstrated by the sometimes eerie closeness of a vignette to the original lines from Ovid, which still manage to resonate with modern viewers."

I was loving the play on light and reflection that this offered and I capitalized on it in the show poster as well as a few shots during the play.

The students did a wonderful job bringing these eclectic tails to life.

Tonight is the final performance and I am looking to bag a couple more shots to add to the gallery.

Break a leg everyone!
